“When Can We Go Back to Disney?”
I hear this question at least three or four times a week: “Mom, when can we go back to Disney?” When we went in 2010, Princess was two.
(Don’t ever let anyone tell you not to take a toddler or preschooler to Disney because “they won’t remember it anyway.” Oh yes they will! Princess Beth is four now, and she hasn’t forgotten a thing.)
Unfortunately, I don’t have a solid answer for her. We’re working on our next trip, but I don’t have dates set. I know how things should work out, but let’s face it, a lot could still go wrong and derail our plans. Part of me wants to include the kids in the planning process. Especially for the older ones, it’s a good lesson on budgeting, saving for the things you want, etc. It might also make it a lot easier to say no when they want to splurge, because then I can always say “What’s more important to you – going out for ice cream, or our Disney trip?” But on the other hand, if things don’t go the way we plan, they’d be devastated.
What do you tell the kids when they ask about your next Disney vacation?
