What’s the Deal with D23?
Have a Very Happy Thursday everyone! Thursdays are always happy around here, because Thursday is Blog Hop day! Welcome to everyone stopping by from the Babes in Disneyland Blog Hop. It’s always great to see old friends, and to meet new ones. Our theme today is the D23 expo, happening this weekend in Anaheim, California.
D23 is the official Disney fan club, encompassing everything Disney from TV and movies, theme parks, merchandise and more.
[one_half][box type=”info”] Ever wonder what “D23” stands for?
“D” stands for Disney, of course.
23 is short for 1923, the year Walt Disney arrived in California and founded what would later become the Walt Disney Company.[/box][/one_half]

The D23 expo is a yearly gathering of Disney fans – both D23 members and non-members – from all over the world. Disney channel and ABC Family celebrities make appearances and sign autographs, Disney store introduces new merchandise lines, and authors with Disney publishing are available for signings. Interesting….but the real draw to the D23 expo are the fans. For three days, Disney geeks like us get together and immerse in Disney fun!
After the expo ends, the Disney magic continues. Members receive Disney’s quarterly fan magazine, a commemorative Mickey Mouse watch, and discounts on Disney merchandise and events. I’ve looked at D23 membership but haven’t bought it (yet!). Are you a D23 member? Is it worth the cost?
