Pirate Fairy Play Day

Disclaimer: I received items to review free of cost from Walt Disney Consumer Products. The opinions expressed in this review are my own. With summer vacation rapidly approaching, it’s time to come up with activities to keep the kids entertained, without plugging them into TV and video games all day long – especially during the worst of the heat and humidity, when it’s downright dangerous to be outside for too long. In our family, coming up with games that appeal to everyone can be tricky. My daughter wants to play pretend, but – shockingly – her brothers can only take so much princesses and fairies before they revolt. Disney has come up with a great solution: Zarina, the Pirate Fairy! Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann: the Perfect Disney Couple

Welcome to those of you joining me from DISTherapy and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re discussing the ideal Disney couples. Interactive Storytelling Adventures at Disney World – Now With Pirates!

Disney’s success in the theme park and resort industry has always come from their ability to tell a good story. We’ve seen the Walt Disney company raise visitor expectations several times over the decades, and now they’re doing it again with the introduction of interactive storytelling adventures in Walt Disney World. The concept of immersing guests in a story is nothing new for Disney. The original Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, the Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion…all iconic Disney rides that draw you into the story. Let’s face it, none of these are particularly exciting rides! The story is what makes them unforgetabble. A few years ago, Disney begain experimenting with interactive storytelling with Toy Story Mania, which gives you the chance to play along as you ride through the attraction. But you’re still riding though, passively going at the attraction’s pace. You don’t have many choices – and that’s...

Disney Dream Portrait Series: Russel Brand as Captain Hook

I recently discovered the Disney Dream Portrait series by fine art photographer Annie Leibovitz. Her most recent work features Russel Brand as Captain Hook. Absolutely beautiful stuff! I’m off to search out a source of prints. Ms. Leibovitz’s work on the Disney Dream Portrait series has been featured in several fashion and lifestyle magazines, but I’m not quite desperate enough to cut out pages from a glossy and tape them to the wall! I’ll let you know what I find 🙂 Pin It
