Space Mountain – A Galaxy of Twists, Turns, and Drops!

Welcome to those of you joining me from My Dreams of Disney and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the final stop on our Magical Blogorail. For this very special edition, our kids are taking over the Blogorail, and sharing their favorite ride or attraction at Disney parks. Today my oldest son, Will, talks about his favorite ride: Space Mountain! Space Mountain’s awesome! If I had to explain it in one word it would be: ZOOM! I really like the futuristic looking train, but you’ll never guess how fast it goes! 3o mph. Not the fastest I must admit. But it feels like you’re going warp speed. The train it self  looks like a spaceship. The track seems to take you on a joyride through the galaxy. First you go under a control tower. Then you go through a blue #8217;s when the fun begins. Then suddenly you’re literally dropped into a galaxy of twists, turns, and drops! Even the...

Moments With the Cast

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Yellow.  Enjoy the ride as we share a moment with a Cast Member who went out of their way to create Disney Magic. This subject is very close to my heart. Maybe because as a Mom I know how much work goes into making mundane things run smoothly! Normally, I try to include a photo with every blog post, but I won’t be doing that today. I don’t have photos of the person I want to share with you today. At the time, we were simply tourists, not Disney bloggers. We took pictures of Spaceship Earth, Cinderella’s Castle, and the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. It didn’t occur to me to take pictures of the housekeeping or restaurant staff. My bad. I won’t make that mistake again next time, because those people – not some giant golf ball – made...

Ships Sail in Darkness

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Go To Girl or those of you who have just hopped aboard.  I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. Our challenge for this special Magical Blogorail loop is to interpret a Mouse of Zen haiku with a photo and personal memory. Before I can offer my interpretation, I have two confessions to make: First, I’m a poetry geek. I majored in English in college and wrote my thesis on Yeats’ The Second Coming. I have far too many notebooks full of random verse that never quite saw the light of day. Second, just between you and me, I hate haiku. I always have. I couldn’t stand it in grade school when they made us write them. I won’t bore you with my analysis of the form and my objections to it. Just suffice it to say, haiku...

Meet Sorcerer Radio DJ Jeff Davis

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Babies Blog and those of you who have just hopped aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. I got the opportunity this week to sit down over a cup of virtual coffee and get to know Jeff Davis, News Director and on-air personality at Sorcerer Radio. Jeff, thanks for taking the time to chat with me. How would you describe what you do at Sorcerer Radio? I started with Sorcerer Radio back in 2006 reading the news on The Character Breakfast Podcast, then Wayne (Station Owner) and thought up the idea of doing a show on Sorcerer Radio itself, and that is how DW:60 got started.  Since then I now host The SRN Top 10, and my newest show which has been running for about 4 months now which is WDW After Dark.  Needless to say my...

Hold On, Tigger!

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, and those of you who came straight here.  I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. I am thrilled to join the Magical Blogorail Yellow Loop! Our theme today is a favorite or memorable Disney photo, which meant I got to spend an hour sifting through the photos from our first trip reliving all those wonderful memories. Not a bad way to spend an evening! I realized a couple of things: First, I need more Disney photos! Second, I needed to dig a little deeper to find the stories in the photos I have. This is the photo I finally chose:     Aw, cute. The kids meeting Tigger….the typical Mom photo, right? There’s more to this story than meets the eye! Just as we came around the corner into the photo area, Tigger was making his...
