Which Disney Destination?

The thing I love about a Disney vacation is that it’s safe. I know that whatever I decide to do, wherever we stay, it’s going to be good. A lot of the planning of a Disney vacation goes into making it spectacular, because just walking through the gates means it’s going to be a good day. Carefully planned dining reservations and touring plans are just building on an already Good Thing. The variety of Disney destinations also means that our family can travel within the Disney brand and still have a nice variety of experiences. But this brings up a problem – which of them to choose? Here’s how I break it down: Disneyland and California Adventure The original Disney destination! I choose this park if I’m short on time. Disneyland and California Adventure is perfect for a 3-4 day getaway. If you have more time, you can also...

Bringing the Haunted Mansion Home for Halloween

I just had to share this project – not that I have time to make it, but it’s amazing nonetheless! A 3-D model of the Haunted Mansion at Liberty Square, made entirely of paper: Ray Keim, creator of these incredible paper models, is also a member of the Halloween Horror Nights design team at Universal Orlando. As an added bonus, Disney Parks published instructions for the Hitchhiking Ghosts! What do you think – would you (or maybe the kids) attempt one of these projects? I’d love to do an entire paper village of these models! Pin It

Virtual Vacation: Going to Paris!

It’s Virtual Vacation Wednesday! These posts are all fantasy, a little fun and relaxation in the middle of the week. Most of the time, planning is half the fun but this week what I really needed from my virtual vacation was to just go and let somebody else do the thinking. So I showed up on one of my favorite blogger’s virtual doorstep and said “It’s been a long week….we’re going to Disneyland!” Manda lives in Scotland and writes about Disneyland Paris Manda’s Disney Blog. ************* Here’s our girls’ weekend in Disneyland Paris ************* So Tricia turns up on my doorstep with 2 day 2 Park Disneyland Paris tickets! (I would always go for longer, but to keep this virtual vacation from turning into a book … I’m sticking with a 2 day trip! 😛 ) Let the virtual vacation begin! I’ve been instructed that money is no object with my...
