Weekend Roundup – Castles, Fairies, and a Baby Elephant

Welcome to the Weekend Roundup – This week I’ve been indulging in the fluffier side of Disney. On Monday I offered my Top 5 Perks for Staying at a Disney Hotel. Tuesday, I co-hosted the Tiggerific Tuesday Blog Hop with Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and Amanda from Bitten by the Disney Bug, and shared my thoughts on how the Disney castles have evolved over the years. On Wednesday, Tinker Bell sprinkled fairy dust over Return to Disney. Thursday was Blog Hop day again, and this week’s theme was Inspiration. I introduced an “annoying little fairy” – my muse. For most of our trip, Beth had been talking about Goofy – but when the time time came to actually meet him she chickened out and hid behind Mama! So, we’ve got great pictures of the boys with Goofy, but Beth wouldn’t go near...

Disney is well-known for their conservation efforts inside the Animal Kingdom. With the help of park guests, they also fund conservation projects around the world. You can contribute to the fund in a variety of ways: Add a dollar or more to your purchase of food or souvenirs inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Attend An Untamed Lunch at Animal Kingdom Lodge Purchase reusable bags and other specified items at other Walt Disney World parks and resorts, or on the Disney Cruise Line. Disney has teamed up with Google Earth to showcase the efforts of local groups supported by the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund: Download the Google Earth browser plugin, then go to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund Google Earth map. Search by animal, or just browse around to find out what projects are being done in your own backyard. I plan on leaving this open on the computer for the kids to find...
