Which Disney Destination?

The thing I love about a Disney vacation is that it’s safe. I know that whatever I decide to do, wherever we stay, it’s going to be good. A lot of the planning of a Disney vacation goes into making it spectacular, because just walking through the gates means it’s going to be a good day. Carefully planned dining reservations and touring plans are just building on an already Good Thing. The variety of Disney destinations also means that our family can travel within the Disney brand and still have a nice variety of experiences. But this brings up a problem – which of them to choose? Here’s how I break it down: Disneyland and California Adventure The original Disney destination! I choose this park if I’m short on time. My “must-pack” list is actually broken down into a few categories: Health and Safety Aloe – I’m pretty fair skinned. I don’t tan, I go straight to burn –...

Adults-Only Trip to Walt Disney World

It’s been a stressful few weeks around here. Nothing major, just one minor thing after another. Over the weekend, I priced out a Disney vacation – just my way of fantasizing and letting go of the stress. Just for fun, instead of quoting two adults and four kids, I looked at what a trip for just the two of us might cost. A second honeymoon, maybe? But then again . . . what kind of horrible, mean, selfish parents would we be to take a Walt Disney World vacation without the kids?? Could we really get away with dropping the kids off at the grandparents’ house while we spent a week at Disney? Better hope the kids don’t read my blog today . . . (This is the only photo we have from our first Disney trip that has both of us actually standing next to each other!) What...
