Travel Tip: Outfit Bags

Mornings are chaotic under the best of circumstances. Put six people in a hotel room, and the chaos is amplified. With four kids and two adults, all digging through suitcases trying to find t-shirts, shorts, underwear, socks, it’s amazing how quickly a hotel room can go from pristine to pigsty! I’ve come up with a ridiculously simple solution to the problem: Outfit Bags. Whenever I pack for a trip, I think through how many outfits each person needs, and try to make sure that they have clothes that will go together. Then, instead of putting the clothes directly into the suitcase, I put each complete outfit into a zip-top bag labeled with the owner’s name. If I’m being really organized, I’ll even label it with the day the outfit is to be worn. What You Need Zip-Top Bags I use two types of bags. For adults and older kids,...

American Tourister – Official Luggage of Disney Resorts

If you’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, you’ll see something a little different. Our friends at American Tourister have been named the “Official Luggage of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland #8221; You’ll see billboards and bench signage, but Disney Imagineers and American Tourister really had some fun integrating luggage into the immersive atmosphere of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Check out the props on Sunset Blvd: Personally, I tend to be a little skeptical when it comes to anything being named the official whatever of something. Chocolate milk, apparently, is the official beverage of Halloween. It seems kind of silly to me. Other than being overly sweet, what does chocolate milk have to do with Halloween? And who decides these things anyway? I can see why Disney chose American Tourister’s products as the official luggage of their resorts. Everything we love about Disney resorts – their attention to detail,...

Disney Dream (Virtual) Vacation

It’s Thursday, and that means it’s Blog Hop day! As always, I’d like to thank Lisa of Babes in Disneyland for hosting! I’ve missed the hop for the last few weeks but this week’s theme jumped out at me. Today, we’re talking about Disney Dreams. When we went to Walt Disney World last year, it was a matter of necessity. We all needed a break. We needed to get away from the craziness of reality for a while and at the same time rediscover our essential realities – fun, family, silliness, and other very important things. This year has been more of the same – differently crazy, but still crazy. Unfortunately, we won’t be hopping on board the Magical Express this Fall, but that doesn’t mean I can’t dream! My Dream (Virtual) Vacation has one central theme: Time, and plenty of it. Time to spend really exploring our resort, seeing...

I’m a Travel Geek on (almost) Wordless Wednesday

I love across a corn field from our regional airport, and I’ll admit . . . I really don’t mind. I love hearing the airplanes take off, and watching them land. There’s something magical about that. It makes me daydream about where those people are traveling to, and what adventures await them. And of course, it makes me wish I was on those planes headed straight for Disney! Pin It
