Getting Creative with Disney Imagicademy {Review}

Welcome to the third post in our winter boredom busters series, sponsored by Wonder Forge Games! Today we’re playing with two Disney Imagicademy activity kits designed for younger kids Disney Imagicademy Frozen Science Disney Imagicademy Storymation Studio Since the boys got to geek out on Star Wars last week, and seem to have an odd allergy to all things Frozen (Let it Go, guys!), This time it was just us girls – and we had a BLAST! First up: Frozen Science activity kit. It comes with an activity book full of puzzles and science experiments that my daughter was able to do all by herself. The kit comes with a variety of colored pencils, stickers, a mister, rainbow glasses, and colored dye tabs for use in one of the experiments. I really liked that none of the experiments involved materials that I didn’t have on hand, and they really challenged...

Star Wars Game Day {Review}

It’s no secret: we’re a family of geeks and gamers. Star Wars is kind of a thing in our house, so when Wonder Forge Games asked if I’d like to review their latest Star Wars themed board games, I immediately put “Star Wars Game Day” on the calendar. And well…you saw the boys’ reaction to it in our first unboxing video. What you didn’t see was my husband behind the camera. He was geeking out as much as anyone! I was provided products to review by the manufacturer. The opinions expressed in this article are my own. We played three games: Star Wars Pictopia Star Wars Galaxy Hunt Star Wars Star Destroyer Strike Overall, we had a great time. All three games were simple enough for the younger kids to enjoy, but interesting enough for the older ones — and adults — to enjoy as well. We started out...

I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but if you’re like me, you’ve already started thinking about your holiday gift list. Or at least, you’ve started thinking “I should really start figuring this out…” Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing reviews and tips to add a little magic to your holiday gift giving. To kick off this year’s holiday gift guide, I’m excited to share My Magical Adventure, a personalized book by Crayon Crunch. Disclaimer: I was provided a personalized copy of My Magical Adventure in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed below are entirely my own. What I absolutely love about My Magical Adventure is what goes on behind the scenes. When you order the book for your child, you have the opportunity to really customize the main character to represent your child. Other books of this type allow you to choose hair, eye, and...

Pirate Fairy Play Day

Disclaimer: I received items to review free of cost from Walt Disney Consumer Products. The opinions expressed in this review are my own. With summer vacation rapidly approaching, it’s time to come up with activities to keep the kids entertained, without plugging them into TV and video games all day long – especially during the worst of the heat and humidity, when it’s downright dangerous to be outside for too long. In our family, coming up with games that appeal to everyone can be tricky. My daughter wants to play pretend, but – shockingly – her brothers can only take so much princesses and fairies before they revolt. Disney has come up with a great solution: Zarina, the Pirate Fairy! Just like Tinker Bell, Zarina is curious and adventurous – and she’s a big fan of glittery Pixie Dust! Recently, I put The Pirate Fairy movie on for my...
