Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival Replaces Captain EO

I’ll admit, when I’ve been in Epcot, I’ve passed right by the Magic Eye Theater featuring Captain EO starring Michael Jackson. I’m more into fantasy than sci-fi, and I’ve never been a big Michael Jackson fan, so the whole attraction just wasn’t for me. I suspect I’m not the only one. This attraction was originally shown for 10 years, ending in 1996. It was brought back as a tribute in 2010, after Michael Jackson’s death. Being in Futureland, it’s time to keep moving and look forward to something new. Starting in December, the Magic Eye Theater will feature the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival featuring Disney & Pixar shorts shown in 4D. Disney also hinted at some behind the scenes insights – so maybe we’ll get interviews with imagineers as well? No word yet on which shorts will be featured, so we’ll just have to wait and see....

Moms Get Bored Too – #DearSantaLoveDragyn book giveaway

Sometimes, we spend so much time and energy focused on keeping our kids entertained and engaged that we Moms forget to pack something for ourselves to do while we wait for the plane to arrive. Sure, half the time, my kindle stays firmly entrenched in my carry-on because I’m frantically busy trying to keep four kids in the same general area, but at some point in every trip I stop and realize: everybody’s occupied, except for me. I have a hard time finding just the right book to read sometimes. I have enough drama and stress in real life, so I don’t really want it in my entertainment too, but at the same time I want something smarter and more sophisticated than your average Harlequin romance. (You can only read so many virtually identical novels before you start to see the formulas.) So I wrote the story I wanted...

Favorite Disney Holiday Plus

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Final stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re talking about our favorite Disney holiday “plus” – celebrations, events, and other things Disney does to make the holidays over the top. Simply being at Disneyland or Walt Disney World would be enough to make any holiday amazing. Disney takes the holidays to the extreme, with events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which includes a magical snowfall in the middle of Florida. Unfortunately, being at the Disney Parks over the holidays also means crowds. Really thick, dense crowds. The type of crowds that give me instant panic attacks even when I’m not terrified of losing one of the kids. There’s something about a mass of humanity that puts me into sensory overload – the thousand...

Exciting News!!

First off, let me apologize if you’ve been waiting to find out what happens with Sporia, Renee, and her forbidden lover. I know, I promised the next installment this morning, but sometimes something so huge falls out of the sky that your regularly scheduled writing time gets overwhelmed. I’ve just joined Hydra Publications‘ brand new Role Playing Game division under the leadership of one of my mentors and favorite authors, Raven Bower. Over the next several months, I’ll be joining a team of incredibly talented writers creating game modules, rule books, and novels based on the Pathfinder fantasy game system. Does this mean I can write off GenCon passes as a business expense? 🙂 Pin It
