Disney-Inspired St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

Welcome to those of you joining me from My Dreams of Disney and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the final stop on our Magical Blogorail. And thank you to Magical Blogorail Red for letting me join you this month to celebrate one of my favorite holidays – St. Patrick’s Day! Since everyone is a little bit Irish this time of year, I thought I’d share what I’ll be serving my own family: a Disney-inspired St. Patrick’s day dinner. Corned Beef & Cabbage If you happen to be in Epcot, you can sample this classic Irish dish at the Rose & Crown Pub in the UK Pavilion in Epcot. If you’re at home, it couldn’t be easier to prepare! Go to your local grocery store and buy a corned beef brisket. It will come with a spice packet. (Normally, I’d turn up my nose at such a thing,...

Alice in Wonderland Baby Shower: Sweet Treats

Welcome to those of you joining me from A Disney Mom’s Thoughts and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. Today, we’re throwing a virtual Alice in Wonderland baby shower for our friend PT at 400 Miles to Disneyland. When Alice fell down the rabbit hole, her whole world turned upside down, never to be quite the same again. A new baby – whether it’s your first or your fourth – has the same effect. They make our worlds a bit more topsy-turvy than they were before, in the most wonderful of ways! I wanted to capture that sense of wonder and dizziness in Pauline’s Alice in Wonderland baby shower cake. Won’t you have a (virtual) slice? Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Picturing Disney. Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail...

A Grand Floridian Christmas Party

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re celebrating the holidays at home – Disney-style. Since I won’t be resort-hopping this December (as much as I’m tempted to run away from all the planning and shopping and preparation sometimes!), I decided to throw a Grand Floridian Christmas party! Make a Grand Floridian Gingerbread House The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort is truly legendary. My gingerbread house won’t be quite this elaborate! I’ve actually never made a real gingerbread house – the ones we did in elementary school, with graham crackers, don’t count. Every Christmas, I decide I want to create one of these amazingly beautiful pieces of artwork, but somehow I always end up too busy, too tired, too stressed out to actually do it. I have...

Easter, Disney Style on Disney Foodie Blog Hop

Welcome back to the Disney Foodie Blog Hop! Our theme this week is Easter, Disney Style. Link up, follow the blogs you find interesting, and let’s eat! We have a tradition that when we celebrate holidays at home, each member of the family chooses a dish for the meal. I got to choose our dessert for Easter (well….one of them anyway. It’s just not worth arguing with a kid who insists that we must have carrot cake for the Easter Bunny. And I like carrot cake so it’s all good). Of course, I pulled the Delicious Disney cookbook off the shelves! My choice for Easter dessert this time around is the Artists Point Berry Cobbler. I love the contrast of sweet-tart berries and the savory crust! I’ll post photos – maybe even a video, if I get ambitious – on Facebook this weekend, but for now I’ll share the...

Alfredo a la Epcot

Thank Goofy It’s Friday – and it’s time to relax, enjoy a good meal, and recapture a little of the magic that gets lost in the chaos of the week. And let me tell you, this week has been chaotic! I spent most of the week arranging a cruise for some old friends, and was able to get them some extra perks thrown in for fun. (I actually have 4 more staterooms set aside, so if you’re thinking of escaping next February drop me a note and I’ll get you the details!) This is a reprise of a post I wrote several months ago, when the Foodie Friday concept first popped onto my blogging radar. I love getting to share my other first love – cooking – with a healthy dose of Disney thrown in for fun, and getting to share it with you! On the menu today: Alfredo...
