Alice in Wonderland Baby Shower: Sweet Treats

Welcome to those of you joining me from A Disney Mom’s Thoughts and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. Today, we’re throwing a virtual Alice in Wonderland baby shower for our friend PT at 400 Miles to Disneyland. When Alice fell down the rabbit hole, her whole world turned upside down, never to be quite the same again. A new baby – whether it’s your first or your fourth – has the same effect. They make our worlds a bit more topsy-turvy than they were before, in the most wonderful of ways! I wanted to capture that sense of wonder and dizziness in Pauline’s Alice in Wonderland baby shower cake. Won’t you have a (virtual) slice? Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Picturing Disney. Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail...

A Grand Floridian Christmas Party

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re celebrating the holidays at home – Disney-style. Since I won’t be resort-hopping this December (as much as I’m tempted to run away from all the planning and shopping and preparation sometimes!), I decided to throw a Grand Floridian Christmas party! Make a Grand Floridian Gingerbread House The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort is truly legendary. My gingerbread house won’t be quite this elaborate! I’ve actually never made a real gingerbread house – the ones we did in elementary school, with graham crackers, don’t count. Every Christmas, I decide I want to create one of these amazingly beautiful pieces of artwork, but somehow I always end up too busy, too tired, too stressed out to actually do it. I have...

Road Trip Snacks – Disney Style

We’re getting close to our return trip to Walt Disney World, and the reality of the situation is starting to sink in. This year, we’re driving to Florida. Plane tickets are just too expensive this time – they would cost almost half of what we’re spending on the vacation itself! So we’re hitting the road, and that means road trip snacks – Disney style, of course! To make the trip even more fun, we’re surprising the kids! They know we have a trip planned, but we’ve been a little vague about the dates, so this should work. The plan is to pick them up from school on a Friday afternoon, van packed and ready to go. We’ll get on the interstate heading South and see how far we get before they figure out where we’re headed. Of course, I plan to drop plenty of hints, and I found the perfect one!...

Spirit of Aloha: My Most Memorable Disney Meal

Welcome to those of you joining me from The Disney Point and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail. I’m filling in on the Magical Blogorail Black line this week. We’re discussing our most memorable Disney meals. Usually, when you think of something that is really memorable, it’s either wonderful or utterly horrid. There is no middle ground with memorable! The Spirit of Aloha dinner show was definitely memorable for our family. First, the horrid – let’s get that out of the way early. It was held late at night, so the kids were already pretty tired. Then there was the seemingly interminable wait to be seated. Boredom, check. I have quite a few out-of-focus pictures like this one, which were taken more to entertain a two year old than to capture memories! Then there was the actual show. It was...

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re talking about the new fanatasyland expansion at Walt Disney World, and sharing what we’re most excited to experience. This was a tough one! There’s so much to choose from. In the end, I had to choose the Be Our Guest Restaurant. First off, I’ve always loved Belle. She was the first of the new Disney princesses, and the first one who really had the deep characterization and guts that I could respect. Belle was the first princess that I could really imagine myself becoming. The earlier princesses were too simplistic. They cooked and cleaned, and sometimes even got dirty, but their big character elements were being pretty and being kind. Both wonderful qualities, but I wanted something more. Belle was pretty...
