Romantic Disney Dining: Be Our Guest

Welcome to those of you joining me from DISTherapy and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail. To celebrate Valentine’s day, we’re sharing our picks for romantic Disney dining. Disneyland was originally designed with families in mind – to be a place where parents and children could have fun together. When Epcot was added to the Walt Disney World Resort in 1982, it added a new grown-up layer to the family-oriented Disney experience. The  Fantasyland expansion in 2013 carried on this multi-layered approach to guest experiences, and with it came my pick for romantic Disney dining: Be Our Guest. Atmosphere Almost every restaurant at the Walt Disney World resort is designed to immerse you in a specific place, time, and circumstance. Be Our Guest is no exception. The atmosphere makes Be Our Guest ideal for a romantic evening – the main...

Spirit of Aloha: My Most Memorable Disney Meal

Welcome to those of you joining me from The Disney Point and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail. I’m filling in on the Magical Blogorail Black line this week. We’re discussing our most memorable Disney meals. Usually, when you think of something that is really memorable, it’s either wonderful or utterly horrid. There is no middle ground with memorable! The Spirit of Aloha dinner show was definitely memorable for our family. First, the horrid – let’s get that out of the way early. It was held late at night, so the kids were already pretty tired. Then there was the seemingly interminable wait to be seated. Boredom, check. I have quite a few out-of-focus pictures like this one, which were taken more to entertain a two year old than to capture memories! Then there was the actual show. It was...

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re talking about the new fanatasyland expansion at Walt Disney World, and sharing what we’re most excited to experience. This was a tough one! There’s so much to choose from. In the end, I had to choose the Be Our Guest Restaurant. First off, I’ve always loved Belle. She was the first of the new Disney princesses, and the first one who really had the deep characterization and guts that I could respect. Belle was the first princess that I could really imagine myself becoming. The earlier princesses were too simplistic. They cooked and cleaned, and sometimes even got dirty, but their big character elements were being pretty and being kind. Both wonderful qualities, but I wanted something more. Belle was pretty...

Disney Dining Plan Worth It?

With rumors about the Fall Free Dining Plan Promotion flying around the blogosphere, questions about the dining plan can’t be far behind. The big one is always “Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it?” (of course, if Disney is giving it away, it’s definitely worth it – but what if you can’t travel during the dates of this promotion?) The Disney Dining Plan can be confusing, with three options to choose from that cover a wide variety of restaurants, snack carts, and dining experiences around the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s also not cheap, adding several hundred dollars to your vacation package total. The big question, of course, is “Is the Disney Dining Plan worth the money?” Here’s how our family came to the decision to buy the Disney Dining Plan, and why we’ll keep buying it – although if you’re on the fence, taking advantage of the Free Dining...
