Bringing Disney Home

Road Trip Snacks – Disney Style

We’re getting close to our return trip to Walt Disney World, and the reality of the situation is starting to sink in. This year, we’re driving to Florida. Plane tickets are just too expensive this time – they would cost almost half of what we’re spending on the vacation itself! So we’re hitting the road, and that means road trip snacks – Disney style, of course! To make the trip even more fun, we’re surprising the kids! They know we have a trip planned, but we’ve been a little vague about the dates, so this should work. The plan is to pick them up from school on a Friday afternoon, van packed and ready to go. We’ll get on the interstate heading South and see how far we get before they figure out where we’re headed. Of course, I plan to drop plenty of hints, and I found the perfect one!...

American Tourister – Official Luggage of Disney Resorts

If you’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, you’ll see something a little different. Our friends at American Tourister have been named the “Official Luggage of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland #8221; You’ll see billboards and bench signage, but Disney Imagineers and American Tourister really had some fun integrating luggage into the immersive atmosphere of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Check out the props on Sunset Blvd: Personally, I tend to be a little skeptical when it comes to anything being named the official whatever of something. Chocolate milk, apparently, is the official beverage of Halloween. It seems kind of silly to me. Other than being overly sweet, what does chocolate milk have to do with Halloween? And who decides these things anyway? I can see why Disney chose American Tourister’s products as the official luggage of their resorts. Everything we love about Disney resorts – their attention to detail,...

Kilimanjaro Safaris at Night

There has been quite a bit of chatter around the blogosphere lately about the new AVATAR themed land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and to be honest, I didn’t pay a lot of attention. I didn’t see AVATAR in the theaters. From what I heard, it just wasn’t that good. (If I heard wrong, I’m sure you’ll let me know, right?) But this little tidbit from the Disney Parks Blog post caught my attention: The park will introduce more nighttime entertainment as well, including live performers on Discovery Island and a new nighttime version of the Kilimanjaro Safaris. (Read the full post here.) For most park guests, the only time you can see the animals is during the day, when they’re least active. If you’re willing to get up early, there are currently two ways you can do the Kilimanjaro Safaris while the animals are still relatively...

Gingerbread Houses Around Walt Disney World

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the final stop on our Magical Blogorail. I am so excited to rejoin the Magical Blogorail this month, after taking several months off. This time our theme is Christmas Must-Dos at Walt Disney World. Sure, it might be October and right now the Disney parks are full of pumpkins and not-so-scary scarecrows, but if you have a holiday trip coming up (or just wish you did!) this is the time to start planning your activities. My Christmas must-do at Walt Disney World are the gingerbread houses. I’ve never actually made a gingerbread house. But I want to! Every year, I see these amazing works of architectural artwork and think, “I could do that…” (Maybe. If I had a lot more time.) And of course Disney goes completely over the top...
