    Welcome to those of you joining me from DISTherapy and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. This month we’re discussing the ideal Disney couples. To me, that means a couple that can go beyond the first blush, and can keep sweeping each other off their feet for years to come. I’ve gone to Port Royal to bring you Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann: the perfect Disney couple. Beauty and the Beast: A Disney Couple I Can Relate To

American Tourister and The Magical Blogorail are celebrating our favorite Disney couples!  When the opportunity came to celebrate my favorite Disney couple, I jumped at the chance to write about Beauty and the Beast. Belle was a girl I could relate to, and I loved that she got a prince that had a little edge to him. I’m sure Charming is very nice and all, but I can’t imagine trying to hold a conversation with him! Belle As a child of the ’90s, I got to witness the Disney Princess renaissance that started in 1991 with Beauty and the Beast. The Little Mermaid had been released two years before, in 1989, and before that it had been 30 years since Disney had released a new princess movie. Belle was the first modern Disney princess. Blurring the Line: Hero, Villain, or Both?

Most of the time, Disney is pretty clear-cut about who the Good Guys are. Disney villains are pretty easy to spot too. But then the line blurs, and you come to one of my favorite places: The Haunted Mansion is a character itself – it’s not quite a hero, but it’s not completely evil either.
