Beyond the Parks – it’s Blog Hop Day!

Welcome to everyone here from the Blog Hop hosted by Babes in Disneyland! This week’s theme is Disney pictures taken somewhere other than one of the parks. Well it just so happens that Princess gave me the perfect photo opp this week! A little background first. Princess is almost 3. She’s been in on-again-off-again potty training mode all year. She actually spent most of our first trip to Disney World diaper-free!  Lately….not so much. Gotta love toddlers. So I made a huge deal of letting her pick out her very own stickers, which she earns by going potty and staying dry. She started the morning strong, with a Donald sticker. I’d love (LOVE!) to report that the stickers all over her dress were an indication of our limited time left in diaper-land. No….apparently that whole “you have to EARN your stickers” concept went over her head. Or more likely,...

Who Says Mickey Only Hides at Disney?

I took a ride on the Magical Blogorail today and got a great idea for surprising the kids from Kristen at Cooking with Mickey – hidden Mickeys! So I’m thinking, about a month before the trip, I’m going to start leaving a little stuffed Mickey Mouse in odd places. Then the morning of the trip, he’ll be holding the tickets (unless I find a 3-foot Mickey statue!) Any great ideas for strategic Mickey placement? Pin It

Bringing Disney Food Home

Without a doubt, the food at Disney is amazing. For me, bringing the magic home required a lot of photographs and the food. Of course I didn’t actually combine the two and take pictures of our meals. Maybe on our second trip I’ll be thinking like a blogger! Since none of the Disney chefs are likely to show up in the local restaurants, I did what I always do – figured out how to make it myself. My big souvenir from our first trip was a copy of Delicious Disney:   Some of the recipes are things I already knew how to make, but a few are truly over the top. And as I was reminded recently, I still haven’t gotten around to making Tonga Toast for the family. UPDATE: Tonga Toast at home!
