Bringing Disney Home

Disney Artwork in the Mailbox!

A couple of months ago, Bill and I signed up to watch a video on Disney’s new Hawaii resort, Aulani. I really did intend to write a review of it, but never did! The short version is – the resort looks like it will be wonderful (of course), and the behind the scenes peek was kind of interesting. I’m still not totally sold on the Disney Vacation Club, and the prices for the Hawaii resort are a little insane. All in all, nice to dream about during those “What if we won the lottery” conversations, but nothing too exciting. Fun to watch though, if you’re a Disney travel video geek like me! Then Bill brought the mail to the hospital for me to look through. There’s a white tube from Disney! I opened it up to find a signed lithograph of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy catching a killer wave:...

Prince Charming Arrives Bearing Gifts!

You know you married a good guy when he arrives at the hospital bearing gifts strategically designed to maintain your sanity: a French press coffee pot so I don’t have to drink hospital coffee and a Disney Parks video! While Patrick is in surgery this afternoon, I’ll make a cup of good coffee, pop in the DVD, and fly away for an hour. Must be true love! Pin It

Meet Sorcerer Radio DJ Jeff Davis

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Babies Blog and those of you who have just hopped aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. I got the opportunity this week to sit down over a cup of virtual coffee and get to know Jeff Davis, News Director and on-air personality at Sorcerer Radio. Jeff, thanks for taking the time to chat with me. How would you describe what you do at Sorcerer Radio? I started with Sorcerer Radio back in 2006 reading the news on The Character Breakfast Podcast, then Wayne (Station Owner) and thought up the idea of doing a show on Sorcerer Radio itself, and that is how DW:60 got started.  Since then I now host The SRN Top 10, and my newest show which has been running for about 4 months now which is WDW After Dark.  Needless to say my...

Let the Memories Begin Tour

When I heard about the Let the Memories Begin Tour sponsored by Disney Parks, I couldn’t wait to check it out. The publicity for the tour was sketchy – I had to call on folks on Twitter to find out dates, times, and locations! In retrospect, that should have been my first clue. Disney Parks was set up in a back corner of Water Tower Place in Chicago, Illinois. We actually had a hard time finding it. There was no crowd, which was nice. The rest of the experience was a bit of a let down. They had three automated photo booths set up – the kind you see at the mall – where a maximum of two people could sit down, watch a brief movie about Disney parks, and have four pictures taken against Disney backgrounds. After the pictures, we got a printout of one picture and a...

There Be Pirates Afoot!

To everyone joining me from the Babes in Disneyland Blog Hop, welcome! This week’s theme is pirates, so I thought I’d share the story of my own harrowing encounter with the Sea Dogs: There we were, just minding our own business, wandering out of The Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Adventureland, when we were accosted by pirates! And instead of backing away slowly, as any rational person would do when confronted with a raging swordfight, my boys rush to join in! I blame their father. What is it with men and swords? And the end result of all this madness? My sweet, innocent baby boys are now under the protection of Captain Jack Sparrow. Oh well, at least it guarantees them safe passage to Tortuga!   Pin It
