Kill Refurb Marry Aerial Spinner Rides

In the middle of the December crazies, one of my blogging buddies invited me to join the newest Disney blog hop, Kill Refurb Marry, hosted by Mouse on the Mind. The mere thought of adding one more thing to my schedule in December made me laugh hysterically, but I promised to get on board in January, so here we are! This month’s theme is Aerial Spinner Rides. The theory is to choose three attractions – one that just needs to die, one that could use a touch-up, and one that is perfect just the way it is. Travel Tip: Disney Gift Card Discount at Target

Today’s Tuesday Travel Tip: Get a 5% Disney Gift Card discount at Target. This could save you a few hundred dollars on your next Disney trip.  Erin Benge first shared this tip in an interview she did with me on Affording Disney: Expert Tips for Disney Savings. I took her advice and saved me almost $300 on our upcoming vacation. I’m sure I’ll come up with something to do with the extra cash! Last week, a JollyVoxBox showed up on my doorstep full of goodies! (Disclaimer: I received complementary samples of each product in exchange for an honest review.) As always, my goal is to give you the best information I can to make your travels as easy and fun as possible. Having said that, I’m excited that most of the products in this first review box are worthy of a spot on your packing list. One of them has serious creative potential, and whether you want to include it in your road trip plans is up to you! I’ll post individual reviews of each of these over the next couple of weeks, but for now I wanted to give you a preview and some initial impressions:...

4 Road Trip Disasters – And How To Avoid Them

My family took a quick road trip to Chicago last weekend. It’s only about three hours away, and it’s a trip we’ve done hundreds of times. No big deal, right? It was the poster child for road trip disasters! And most of the things that went wrong could have been avoided, had I followed my own advice and been more proactive about planning and preparation. I was lulled into a false sense of security – It was just a weekend getaway, and we had done this trip so many times, I didn’t need to do any special planning. Or so I thought. To save you the stress of a weekend getaway that leaves you needing a vacation, I’ve listed out my top 4 road trip disasters, and offered advice on how to avoid them. “Where’s the __________?” “Wait – you forgot WHAT?” Just a short list of the stuff...
