Beauty and the Beast: A Disney Couple I Can Relate To

American Tourister and The Magical Blogorail are celebrating our favorite Disney couples!  When the opportunity came to celebrate my favorite Disney couple, I jumped at the chance to write about Beauty and the Beast. Belle was a girl I could relate to, and I loved that she got a prince that had a little edge to him. I’m sure Charming is very nice and all, but I can’t imagine trying to hold a conversation with him! Belle As a child of the ’90s, I got to witness the Disney Princess renaissance that started in 1991 with Beauty and the Beast. The Little Mermaid had been released two years before, in 1989, and before that it had been 30 years since Disney had released a new princess movie. Belle was the first modern Disney princess. She was someone I could relate to. As much as I love Snow White and Sleeping...

Disney Dining Tips for Special Dietary Needs

“What are we going to eat?” is a major question for any family on vacation, but when you add in food allergies and special diets, it becomes a lot more crucial. It’s no secret that we’re devoted foodies around here, or that there are certain foods that we don’t go anywhere near. With a family of 6, Celiac Disease, nut allergy, mollusk allergy, and “I only eat these 5 foods”-itis, here are my top Disney dining tips for families with special dietary needs. My DisneySide: Magic, Stories, and Dreams

Welcome to those of you joining me from DISTherapy and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. To celebrate the new and improved Magical Blogorail, we’re sharing our DisneySide moments. What is DisneySide anyway? To me, DisneySide is that part of me that never quite grew up. The part that – every once in a while – drops everything to go out for ice cream because it’s Monday, and Mondays require ice cream. It’s the whimsical, silly, impossible side that sticks its tongue out and laughs at this serious grown-up world we all try to live in. When I tried to think of how my DisneySide comes out, I came up with a few examples that seem silly and unimportant, and yet they make all the difference in the world. And really, that’s what DisneySide really is all about! Make a...

Alice in Wonderland Baby Shower: Sweet Treats

Welcome to those of you joining me from A Disney Mom’s Thoughts and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. Today, we’re throwing a virtual Alice in Wonderland baby shower for our friend PT at 400 Miles to Disneyland. When Alice fell down the rabbit hole, her whole world turned upside down, never to be quite the same again. A new baby – whether it’s your first or your fourth – has the same effect. They make our worlds a bit more topsy-turvy than they were before, in the most wonderful of ways! I wanted to capture that sense of wonder and dizziness in Pauline’s Alice in Wonderland baby shower cake. Won’t you have a (virtual) slice? Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Picturing Disney. Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail...
